Before calling for tech support, always make sure you have this information handy. This will help make your support experience much more enjoyable and enable the technician to be more helpful.

• Know your Username and Password
• Know your Operating System (Windows 98/2000/Me/XP, Macintosh)
• Know the brand of computer
• Know the brand and speed of the modem
• Be ready to state the exact program you are having problems with
• Make sure you have already tried restarting the computer before calling.
• Be in front of the computer with it turned on
• Write down all error messages EXACTLY as they appeared.
• If the problems are inconsistent, keep a log with times and dates.
• Keep a log of any changes you have made on your computer.
